Here Kitty Kitty

Poor cat. She lives next door and loves to sun herself on our front step. MJ loves her. Here he was in the process of taking her "home".

The Oldest and Mommy

RJ had a 4 hour (yes F-O-U-R HOUR) genetics appointment yesterday. One of the reasons for the extended length is due to the fact that we are part of a Prader-Willi study. Our geneticist happens to be world-renowned in the study of Prader Willi and actually was the one to diagnose RJ at 2 months. He's made many referrals to other specialists for us and keeps up on RJ's general health. Considering just how long the appointment took, RJ was a champ and very cooperative. To compare his features with mine (skin tone, etc) they took pictures for the study. They were kind enough to e-mail this one. It turned out pretty good!

A Matching Pair!

Molly's second tooth popped through yesterday. This morning she was 'bugging' her big brother by pulling on his shirt when he wasn't looking.

Classy Spit Up

I spent this afternoon with The Good Life sewing burp rags. Strike that. I cut, she sewed. We ended up with several adoreable patterns and styles. Do you think we could go in to business? :-)

Jumper Jumper

Old toy. New entertainment. Cute picture.

Is it snowing?

Cradle Cap. Or Cradle "Crap" as I lovingly refer to it. I hate it. Though I can deal with it on my own child, it completely grosses me out on other people's kids. Molly has more hair than MJ did so I didn't really notice hers until now. I know it has nothing to do with hygeine but I gave her a good scrubbing tonight. Yuck!

Pass the Kleenex

This morning my friend DN had her baby boy! I met her for lunch yesterday and we decided to go out to a movie for her last night of of having only two kids. What movie did we see? One of the saddest I have ever seen, "My Sister's Keeper". So between her pre-natal hormones and my 5 month post-partum hormones, we were a blubbering mess. I have heard it ends differently than the book so I won't post any spoilers but it is a very good movie.
A neat note about my friendship with DN. All of our kids are all extremely alike and close in age. Her daughter C is RJ's age and though we didn't know it, they were in the NICU together. Her daughter L, is MJ's age and the most grown-up 3 year old I know. Her new son L, is only 5 months younger than Molly. I'm thinking we're destined to be in-laws some day.

These teeth are made for biting...

We'd noticed an increase output in the drool factory for a couple of months now. Now we know why!

Can't we get a smile?

Once again, I took Molly to get pictures done. Thanks to a wonderful coupon, I was able to get six sheets for about $28. Though we did get some cute pics, we couldn't get her to smile for love nor money!

Big Boy

MJ went diaper-free last night and was dry this morning. I fully expect for him to have some accidents here and there but this morning we celebrated with a breakfast cookie and a Spiderman sticker.

Whirlwind Weekend

We had another wonderful weekend. Molly's Baptism was last night and we had a fantastic turnout. Even my brother Rich came in to town! Friday night our entire family went to the Royals game and had a great time. We couldn't have asked for better weather. My pictures didn't turn out the best but I'm hoping others will share theirs once they get them downloaded.

The Kindness of Strangers

I had an amazing thing happen to me tonight. While at the mall, I saw a woman with a special-needs daughter and inquired about her stroller/wheelchair. It was the brand of a collapsible one I had been looking at for Ryan. I wanted her opinion on the portability and ease of use. She informed me that she loves it but that her daughter is getting too big for it. (Her daughter is 11). Long story short, we walked to the parking lot together and she GAVE ME her Convaid stroller. These retail for almost $2000. Even with insurance our copay would have been around $400. I offered to pay her something for it but she wouldn't have it. She said she would much rather see it go to someone who could use it than sell it. If there is any doubt if there are angels among us, I met one tonight.

On the Road Again

After our trip to Iowa last week it became painfully obvious that we needed more space in the car. This weekend we are heading to Minnesota for a wedding. Longer trip=More stuff. Earlier this week I found this beauty of a car topper on Craigslist for about 1/3 of what they retail for. Now assuming I installed it correctly it should hold sturdy and give us more room. Hopefully there won't be a trail of clothes on I-35.

Time to show hunger who's boss

Today I am starting Weight Watchers. I'd like to lose a good 20 lbs and get back down to where I was pre-Molly. I'm very excited. It could be the prospect of weight loss or the fact that I get 10 extra points/day since I'm nursing!

Fun-Filled Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend up in Iowa. It was the first time the Jones family of five made the trek to Keo. The kids traveled wonderfully! Though we battled a little illness (MJ), a little rain and cool temperatures, the 2009 4th of July is one to be remembered.
*Note: When traveling with a newly potty-trained toddler, a travel potty is a lifesaver!*

A short playdate with My S0 Called Life and Blurbs
My sister Richelle, niece Calea and nephew Kellen. Blankets on the 4th of July??!!

Calea pushing RJ on the swings at the park

Bobby and Molly getting ready for fireworks

Mom and MJ before the fireworks started.

Time for a bigger car?

We already have a mini-van but after our trip to Iowa this weekend, I'm thinking it's time for a U-Haul.

Bike Parade

Tonight was the annual subdivision bike parade. MJ was super excited. We've never participated before but thought that tonight we'd join in the festivities. MJ rode his tricycle with his best friend AR (her mom is our babysitter). To celebrate the end of the parade, everyone enjoyed popsicles.
