Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt

A church down the street offered a "special needs" Easter egg hunt this evening. It was the first year for the event so I took RJ, not knowing what to expect. I don't have great pictures but what an experience! They separated the hunts based on adaptations that needed to be made for the child. RJ went on the 'Marvelous Movers" hunt which was designated for wheelchairs. They also had carnival games and inflateables. Yes, I carried my almost 60 lb son up the one shown above! This was the first time in 7 years that Ryan has been able to participate mostly independently in an Easter egg hunt and comprehend what he was supposed to do. Oh! He won a raffle prize too!

I am thrilled for him. I bet he is one tired boy after such an exciting evening. Way to go Ry!

How fantastic for him to have so much fun alone with his mom.Did he laugh and have a good time or was he just curious about it all?
