Last year, as a freshman, Molly took up throwing the javelin in track. She had moderate success earning all-conference honors in 9th grade. She was our #3 thrower behind a Texas State commit for Jav and other freshman. Her best throw last year was 31 meters. This year, she moved into the #2 spot medaling at all but her first meet of the season. Missouri post-season is a little different. Anyone can compete in conference, then the top two throwers per team compete in districts. You must finish in the top 4 to move on to sectionals and then the top 4 from sectionals qualify for state. Our girl did just that! She finished 2nd at districts and 4th at sectionals and will be competing in the Missouri class 5 state championships this Friday in Jefferson City. Her PR this year is 38 meters and likely would have broken that yesterday at sectionals if her toe wouldn't have touched the line and scratched the throw. So proud of her hard work and dedication to everything she does.
