Farmer's Market

I really want to grow a garden this year. I've actually wanted to for several years but I just may be ambitious enough to give it a shot this year. WalMart carries the product shown above. It's just right for a first-time *small* garden. I'm thinking tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and maybe green beans. I don't have a ton of room but is there anything else I should plant?

You may want to think twice about strawberries. I think it takes a couple years for the plants to produce and then you need quite a few to make it worth your while. I could be wrong as I usually am but I think they take a little more than your annual plants do.

I like the raised bed you chose. I went with one like it this year, only bigger. I've actually had great luck with strawberries, and then they come back every year.

My favorite thing to grow are vegetables like green beans, sweet peppers, tomatoes and zucchini. If you're new to gardening, I would recommend squash and zucchini--they produce like crazy and you'll feel like you have a green thumb.
